Blood Runs Green
I'm a raging Celtics fan to the point that simply following the team from afar became too little. Under the Def Pen Media network, I run a Twitter account called Blood Runs Green, covering the Boston Celtics.
On this account, I live-tweet Celtics games, covering the on- and off-court action through words, pictures, videos and gifs. I try to provide a unique experience through a blend of insight, humor and interaction. I tweet out timely highlight plays on nationally broadcasted games by using Clippit, an app partnered with Def Pen.
Outside of games, I make sure to keep my followers up to date on all Celtics news and off-court events.
Covering the 2016 USA Men's Basketball Team
In July 2016, I was credentialed for Def Pen to cover the USA Men's Basketball Team during its practice and scrimmage against Venezuela in Chicago at the United Center.
While I was there as a reporter, interviewing players, attending press conferences and developing stories, I also covered the events on social media, for the Def Pen Hoops Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram and Periscope accounts.
I transcribed and posted quotes from players and coaches quickly via Twitter and live-streamed player introductions courtside on Periscope. I also recorded videos of players warming up, stretching and shooting around, then posted those videos on Snapchat and Twitter. This video shows some of the clips I posted to social media.
